In addition, the high-pressure gas ejected from the nozzle can blow off the slag produced by cutting and improve the cutting efficiency. Generally, our common nozzles mainly have three forms: parallel type, convergent type and conical type.

Nozzle is very important for laser cutting machine, it is one of the key factors affecting the efficiency of laser cutting. Because to increase the laser cutting speed, it is necessary to increase the cutting pressure on the workpiece surface, and to increase the cutting pressure on the workpiece surface, it is necessary to increase the air supply pressure of the nozzle, but the traditional nozzle will generate shock waves when the air supply pressure is increased. Due to the existence of shock waves, increasing the air supply pressure will not only not improve the cutting speed, but will have many adverse effects on the cutting process. Therefore, different types of nozzles can be used for metal plates of different thicknesses to meet the cutting requirements:

(1) When cutting 1-3mm stainless steel, use a (Φ1.5) nozzle. When cutting (nitrogen pressure) 10㎏-13㎏.

(2) When cutting 3-4mm stainless steel, select (Φ2.0) nozzle. When cutting (nitrogen pressure) 13㎏-15㎏.

(3) When cutting 5-6mm stainless steel, choose (Φ2.5) nozzle. When cutting (nitrogen pressure) 14㎏-16㎏.

The reason why nozzles are called consumables is that in long-term use, cutting sparks often splash on the nozzles to burn the bottom light holes. In addition, when the laser cutting machine is running, it is inevitable that the nozzle will hit the workpiece. If the collision is serious, the nozzle or even the ceramic body will be replaced. Generally speaking, the replacement cycle of the nozzle is once every 3 months. In order to prolong the service life of the nozzle, it is essential to frequently clean the impurities on the laser head and the nozzle.
